Customs Sarawak annihilated smuggling attempt cigarettes bridge worth RM1.6 Million

KUCHING, 11 Feb (Bernama) - The Sarawak's Royal Malaysian Customs Department successfully defeated attempts to smuggle about three million cigarettes bridge branded Apache Premium Keretek, Absolute Mild and Absolute Mild Menthol worth RM1.6 million including taxes.

Its director Datuk Rusmani Abdul Sukur said tobacco product neighboring countries that try to brought into this country through the Port Senari on February 4 last by declaring a container over 20 feet take load soybeans.

Terengganu Customs make seizures worth RM556, 000

KUALA TERENGGANU, 10 Feb (Bernama) - Terengganu Malaysia Royal Customs Department successfully seized various items that have not passed the Customs value is RM556, 000 to RM1.1 million tax during the first two months of this year.

But he urged people not to be involved in any smuggling activity, distribution and sale of goods has not passed the Customs because it is an offense and may be prosecuted in accordance with the Customs Act 1967.

By that act, if convicted, be fined not less than 10 times the value of goods and not more than 20 times the value of goods or three years imprisonment or both.

KUALA TERENGGANU, 24 Nov (Bernama) -- Kastam Diraja Malaysia (KDRM) Terengganu tidak menjadikan banjir yang melanda negeri itu sebagai halangan untuk membanteras kegiatan penyeludupan, malah meningkatkan usaha menanganinya menerusi operasi di lautan dan juga di darat.

Pengarah Kastam Negeri Datuk Azis Yacub berkata kegiatan penyeludupan barang-barang yang belum diluluskan jabatan itu, sama ada melalui laut atau darat sangat serius di Terengganu.

"Ini terbukti menerusi operasi 'Ops Lada' yang kita jalankan selama 10 hari bermula 14 Nov lalu, seramai 28 individu dipercayai terlibat dalam kegiatan penyeludupan, telah ditahan," katanya kepada pemberita di sini, Selasa.

Menurut beliau, sepanjang tempoh itu juga, pihaknya telah merampas barangan seludup seperti rokok dan beras bernilai RM9,573, manakala anggaran cukainya sebanyak RM38,209.

Beliau berkata sepanjang Op Lada dijalankan, sebanyak 39 kapal dan bot, 13 kenderaan dan 130 premis di negeri itu telah diperiksa.

Beliau berkata 28 kes itu disiasat di bawah Seksyen 135(1)(d) Akta Kastam iaitu kesalahan memiliki barang belum lulus Kastam, dan jika sabit kesalahan pesalah boleh didenda lima kali ganda dari harga barang.

Operasi itu melibatkan 40 anggota Kastam dari negeri Perak, Pulau Pinang, Johor dan Terengganu, katanya.

Azis berkata sasaran operasi ialah bot-bot dan kenderaan penyeludup, tempat pendaratan barang seludup dan tempat menyimpan atau menjual barang seludup.
